The formula is simple and easy to administer. The numerator is the time the inverter was available during astronomical daylight hours (total astronomical daylight hours minus inverter downtime), and the denominator is the total astronomical daylight hours. This means, regardless of the weather, AE is measured on whether the inverter is available.
